Master’s Scholarship

The Yokohama National University Scholarship is a commendable opportunity for youngsters passionate to register for master’s or doctoral programs in a reputed institution. This MEXT Japanese Government Scholarship – University Recommended Program aims at establishing a varied cultural community devoted to carrying constructive changes internationally. It is a light of hope for thousands of international and national students in the chaos of a pandemic where several calamities have already traumatized the world. The brilliant students are stimulated to become a part of this YNU scholarship program to achieve the institute’s core mission to attract them and engage them in different civil engineering activities and programs for ensuring friendly relations among the global communities. Moreover, in the era of changing global power dynamics, Japan has come up with this excellent chance to develop the young minds of developing countries.

The MEXT scholarship for the international students is carried out to provide the poor countries with a tool of educational scholarship instead of making them handicapped with financial aid. This program is popular in developing and emerging countries like South Asia, Southeast Asia, Middle East, and Africa because of the prevalence of following reasons, such as their education system is very poor, low standard of living there, and an urge of people to learn from Japanese scholars. The YNU international scholarship program develops a sense of belongingness among people from different continents, races, religions, ethnicities, and social, economic, and political backgrounds. This allows potential candidates to contribute to educational, cultural, and economic developments accompanied by social developments globally.

This scholarship in Japan for international students allows every talented, fervent, and workaholic student to boost their career growth while polishing their existing skills and adding up additional skills. Further, the Japanese government also gains an advantage from the young brains in two aspects. Firstly, the Japanese government tries to grasp the foreign qualified potential candidates. In this way, high-quality human resource is gathered among the galaxy of MEXT scholars. After graduation, they are allowed to work in Japan, and a considerable amount of money is contributed to the Japanese economy this way. Secondly, those who decide to go back to their hometowns play a significant role in connecting their countries to Japan in the fields of education, science, technology, business development, and so on.

The MEXT Scholarships at the Yokohama National University, is a fully funded scholarship program. This is sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, Sports, and Culture of Japan. Since the establishment of this scholarship in 1954, approximately 65,000 students belonging to 160 countries and regions across the world have studied in Japan under this scholarship program. Under MEXT, seven types of scholarships are being offered: research students, Undergraduate students, Japanese studies students, teacher training students, special training college students, college of technology students, and young leader program students. With various beneficiaries of different academic levels yearly, this MEXT university-recommended scholarship is driven to achieve the academic goals of potential aspirants.
