The SI Women in STEM Scholarship, a transformative Master’s study in Sweden initiative, invites female students from ten African and Asian countries to pursue fully funded Master’s programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) at top Swedish universities, such as KTH Royal Institute of Technology (#79, QS World University Rankings 2025), Lund University (#109), University of Gothenburg, and Örebro University. Administered by the Swedish Institute (SI), this international STEM scholarships program fosters global STEM trailblazers across over 160 English-taught programs in fields like biotechnology, computer science, sustainable engineering, data science, and environmental technology. Scholars embark on a transformative Master’s journey, engaging in cutting-edge research to advance the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The SI Women in STEM Scholarship empowers scholars to drive innovative STEM solutions at world-class facilities, including LTH’s NanoLund Center and KTH’s Digital Futures Hub. Scholars collaborate with leading faculty on projects tackling climate change, digital transformation, renewable energy, and global health technologies, with 80% of alumni securing leadership roles in industry, academia, or policy-making post-graduation. The program supports a diverse community of international scholars, fostering gender equity and cross-cultural collaboration in STEM, aligning with SI’s mission to create a more inclusive and sustainable global STEM landscape.
The scholarship champions global professional networks. Scholars join the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP), connecting with peers, mentors, and industry experts through workshops, seminars, and events like Stockholm Tech Week, Lund Sustainability Forum, and Gothenburg Science Festival. This inclusive framework supports diverse perspectives, with 50% of scholars from underrepresented regions. Campus activities, such as AI hackathons, Malmö Innovation Summit, or Stockholm Pride, enrich the research-driven experience, with 65% forming international professional ties. SI’s partnerships with global STEM networks enhance cross-border research opportunities, amplifying scholars’ impact.
Studying in Sweden, scholars explore iconic landmarks like Stockholm’s Gamla Stan, Kiruna’s Icehotel, or Malmö’s Turning Torso, immersing in Scandinavian cultural vibrancy. Events like Midsummer Festival, Nobel Week, or Gothenburg Film Festival deepen engagement. Swedish campuses, equipped with advanced labs, digital libraries, and innovation hubs, support global academic excellence, with connectivity to Copenhagen, Oslo, and Helsinki. Sweden’s safe, sustainable cities (QS Best Student Cities 2025) complement academic pursuits, ideal for STEM Master’s studies.
Join a global cohort to champion STEM innovation, embrace sustainability, and redefine career horizons with the SI Women in STEM Scholarship!
