The SIPGA Scholarship 2025, research in Singapore program, invites international students to engage in cutting-edge projects at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore’s premier research institution. This study at A*STAR initiative offers 2- to 6-month research attachments for bachelor’s and master’s students in Computing and Information Science, Biomedical Science, Physical Science, and Engineering, positioning scholars at a global research frontier. Hosted in Singapore, a gateway to Asia Pacific’s innovation ecosystem, A*STAR fosters a multicultural innovation hub where students collaborate with world-class scientists.

The SIPGA program enables participants to select up to three research projects from ASTAR’s diverse portfolio, spanning AI-driven analytics, biomedical diagnostics, quantum computing, and sustainable engineering. Scholars work in state-of-the-art facilities, including ASTAR’s Biopolis and Fusionopolis hubs, equipped with advanced tools like high-performance computing clusters and molecular imaging labs. Under mentorship from renowned researchers, students develop skills in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication, preparing for careers in academia, tech industries, or research institutions with a 90% employability rate within six months.

ASTAR’s interdisciplinary approach encourages collaboration across fields. Computing and Information Science students explore machine learning and cybersecurity, while Biomedical Science scholars investigate precision medicine and genomics. Physical Science projects focus on nanotechnology and photonics, and Engineering research tackles smart manufacturing and renewable energy. The program includes workshops, seminars, and networking events like the **ASTAR Research Symposium**, fostering a global research network with peers from Asia, Europe, and beyond. This dynamic environment drives innovation, aligning with Singapore’s vision as a Smart Nation.

Singapore’s vibrant, multicultural setting enhances the SIPGA experience. Scholars immerse themselves in a city blending tradition and modernity, exploring landmarks like Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, and Chinatown. Cultural events, such as the Singapore Night Festival or Deepavali celebrations, enrich the multicultural innovation journey. A*STAR’s campus, located near Singapore’s tech and business districts, facilitates industry connections with global firms like Roche and Rolls-Royce, boosting career prospects. The program also offers exposure to Asia Pacific’s fastest-growing economies, positioning scholars for global leadership.
