Benefits of the Gates Cambridge Scholarship:

1. The total study cost will be covered by this scholarship.

2. An annual maintenance allowance of £21,000 will be provided.

3. The visa cost will be covered.

4. An economy class one-time airfare will be provided.

5. The cost of immigration Health Surcharge will be covered.

6. Additional academic development funds up to £500-£2000 will be given to attend conferences
and other courses. However, the amount depends on the course length.

7. The scholarship covers a family allowance of up to £11,604 for one child and up to £16,548 for two or more children.

8. The scholarship also covers hardship costs or the cost of any unforeseen difficulty.

9. Fieldwork Allowance.

Eligibility Criteria of the Gates Cambridge Scholarship UK:

To be eligible for the Gates Cambridge Scholarship, applicants must be:

1. Citizens of any country outside the UK.

2. Applying to pursue one of the following full-time residential courses at the University of Cambridge:
•PhD.
•MSc/MLitt.

3. One-year postgraduate course (excluding certain courses).

4. Already admitted students can also go to a Cambridge college.

5. Display outstanding intellectual ability, leadership potential, a commitment to improving the lives of others, and a good fit with the Gates Cambridge program.

6. Applicants must pay a USD 39 registration fee.

7. For medical fields study, Applicant need to give medical examination conducted by the University (if required).

Required Documents for Gates Cambridge University Scholarship:

1. Recommendation letter (if available).

2. Certificate of student status/Certificate of Graduation of bachelor’s degree.

3. Academic transcript of bachelor’s program (if required).

4. Proof of Language proficiency (English or Korean)/ Medium of Instruction (English).

5. CV (if required).

6. Motivation letter/statement of purpose (if any).

7. Additional Documents for Special Circumstances.

8. Copy of Valid Passport (Photo and Information Page).

9. Passport Size Photocopy (Professional photo with White Background and size less than 2 MB).

10. University Admission Offer Letter (If Already Issued).

11. The PhD candidates have to submit a research proposal. Even if the application for a course or college does not require a research proposal; the Gates scholarship has this requirement as a mandatory one.

12. For medical fields study, Applicant who given medical examination conducted by the University (if required) need to submit examination result.

Scholarship Deadline:

Registration deadline for 2025 has passed.

• The registration for 2026 is open with a tentative deadline in September 2025.
