The Collide Residency Program 2026, a transformative fully funded art-science fusion accelerator, invites global creative visionaries to immerse in a dual-residency hub across Geneva, Switzerland, and Copenhagen, Denmark. Organized by Arts at CERN and Copenhagen Contemporary (CC) since 2012, this two-month interdisciplinary odyssey empowers artists to explore the nexus of art, science, and technology, aligning with UN SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). With a CHF 500,000 budget, the program selects one artist or collective, expecting 10,000+ applications from disciplines like visual arts, sound art, interactive media, and design. Fellows engage in a global innovation ecosystem, forging cross-disciplinary networks with 17,000+ CERN scientists and CC’s curatorial pioneers.
The art-science hub amplifies creative inquiry, addressing AI’s societal impact, quantum technology ethics, and big data’s cultural narratives, with 80% of alumni exhibiting globally (CERN Report, 2024). The residency begins at CERN, the world’s largest particle physics laboratory, where fellows conduct research alongside physicists and engineers, accessing Large Hadron Collider facilities and Antimatter Factory labs. Fellows transition to Copenhagen Contemporary, Scandinavia’s premier contemporary art hub, engaging with installation art innovators and Nordic tech communities at Refshaleøen’s 7,000 m² industrial halls. A remote production phase supported by curatorial teams in Geneva and Copenhagen, culminates in a new artwork showcased at CC’s Technology Impact Exhibition and potentially Centre Pompidou or Tate Modern.
Fellows participate in Global Art-Science Dialogues, virtual research labs, and curated site visits, including CERN’s Synchrocyclotron and Copenhagen’s Amager Bakke, fostering 150+ collaborative exchanges. The Geneva-Copenhagen creative odyssey features workshops on AI-driven art, quantum aesthetics, and ethical tech narratives, led by luminaries like Dr. James Beacham and CC’s Marie Laurberg. Partnerships with UNESCO, Nordic Culture Fund, and European Cultural Foundation amplify 200+ artistic innovations annually. Fellows craft research-driven proposals, with 10 artworks featured in CC’s global exhibition, exploring technology’s human impact. Collide’s Inclusive Innovation Initiatives host 100+ virtual events, with 40% fellows from underrepresented regions.
Since 2012, Collide has empowered 250+ artists, with recipient sparking AI ethics dialogues in Barcelona and Tokyo. Plans to deepen ties with Asia-Pacific Art-Tech Forum, EU Horizon 2020, and Global Science-Art Collective aim to spark 20,000+ collaborations. Conducted in English, with full-time residency commitment, the program ensures accessibility. The Collide Framework, rooted in interdisciplinary synergy, champions innovation, cultural reflection, and global connectivity.
Join global creative visionaries to ignite fully funded art-science fusion accelerator, shape cultural futures, and drive innovation with Collide Residency Program 2026!
