The EMIMEP Scholarship, a leading study photonics Europe initiative, empowers international students to pursue a two-year Master’s in Microwave Electronics and Photonics through the Erasmus Mundus European Master for Industry in Microwave Electronics and Photonics (EMIMEP). Delivered by a consortium of top universities—University of Limoges (France), University of Brescia (Italy), University of the Basque Country (Spain), and Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (Germany)—this EMIMEP master’s program drives innovation in Science, Engineering, Technology, and Innovation. As a global tech frontier, EMIMEP immerses scholars in a multicultural innovation odyssey, advancing cutting-edge solutions in photonics and electronics.
The EMIMEP master’s programs cover microwave engineering, photonics technologies, quantum technologies, 2D materials, metasurfaces, lasers, frequency combs, nanoelectronics, and nanophotonics. Semester 1 at Limoges builds foundational knowledge in signal processing and electromagnetism. Semester 2 at Brescia deepens expertise in telecommunication systems and optical technologies. In Semester 3, scholars choose a partner university for specialization, such as sustainable electronics at Jena or advanced photonics in Basque Country. Semester 4 focuses on a master’s thesis with industry partners or research institutes, earning a joint or multiple degree. Taught in English, the curriculum achieves a 95% employability rate within 12 months in roles like photonics engineers, research scientists, or tech innovators, leveraging innovative teaching and lab training.
Studying across Limoges, Brescia, Bilbao, and Jena, scholars experience a multicultural innovation odyssey. In France, they explore Limoges Cathedral; in Italy, Brescia’s Roman Forum; in Spain, Guggenheim Museum; and in Germany, Jena’s Optical Museum. Events like Fête de Limoges, Brescia Summer Festival, Bilbao Aste Nagusia, or Jena Lichtfest enrich cultural immersion. University campuses, with advanced labs and student societies, support a multicultural learning immersion. Career workshops, language support, and a global alumni network, alongside Europe’s connectivity to Paris and Berlin, boost networking and employability, empowering scholars to excel in global tech ecosystems.
Join a diverse cohort to pioneer photonics excellence, embrace Europe’s cultural diversity, and shape the future at a global tech frontier. Apply now for the EMIMEP Scholarship at Europe’s top universities.
