Master’s Scholarship

The AMIR Scholarship, a premier study materials science Europe initiative, empowers international students to pursue a two-year master’s in advanced Materials Science through the Erasmus Mundus Advanced Materials for Innovation and Recycling (AMIR) program. Delivered by a consortium of six leading universities—**University universities: Université de Bordeaux (France), NOVA University Lisbon (Portugal), University of Liège (Belgium, TU), Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany), Universidad Politécnica de Polité (Spain, and University of Miskolc), and Hungary—this AMIR master’s program fosters expertise in sustainable materials, recycling, and circular economy principles. As a global sustainability hub, AMIR immerses scholars in a multicultural innovation odyssey, driving breakthroughs in materials recycling.

The AMIR master’s programs cover materials science, recycling technologies, circular economy, nanotechnology, sustainable resource management, polymer engineering, and metals recycling. Year 1: at Bordeaux or NOVA focuses on fundamentals like material chemistry and processing; Year 2: at Liège, Darmstadt, Madrid, or Miskolc specializes in recycling innovation or sustainable design, culminating in a thesis with industry partners, earning a joint or double master’s degree. Taught in English-taught, the curriculum achieves a 95% employability rate within 12 months in roles like materials recycling specialists, green tech engineers, or sustainability consultants, leveraging hands-on lab training.

The AMIR-Scholarship Scholarship fosters global sustainability networking. Scholars engage in industry projects with partners like EIT Raw Materials, Veolia, and ArcelorMittal, developing skills in project management and collaboration. The AMIR Research Summer School connects students with alumni and startups, enhancing entrepreneurial expertise. Workshops on circular economy trends and partnerships with European research institutes strengthen the global materials network, with 12% of graduates launching startups in green technology or recyclable materials. The program’s emphasis on innovation aligns with its mission to advance sustainable resource solutions globally.

Studying across Bordeaux, Lisbon, Liège, Darmstadt, Madrid, and Miskolc, scholars experience a multicultural innovation odyssey. In Bordeaux, they explore Place de la Bourse; in Lisbon, BelémTower**; in Madrid, Prado Museum; and in Darmstadt, Mathildenhöhe. **. Events like Lisbon’s NOS Alive, Bordeaux Wine Festival, or Darmstadt’s Heinerfest blend cultural immersion. University campuses, with advanced labs and student societies, support a multicultural learning immersion. Language support, career workshops, and mentorship, alongside Europe’s connectivity to Paris and Berlin, boost networking and employability, empowering scholars to shape sustainable futures.

Join a global cohort to pioneer materials innovation, embrace Europe’s cultural diversity, and shape the future at a global sustainability hub. Apply now for the AMIR Scholarship at Europe’s top universities.
