Duke ECE Summer Research Program Banner

The Duke Summer Research Program 2026, a premier fully funded research immersion program, invites tech visionaries to engage in a global innovation nexus at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, USA. This 9-week transformative fellowship unites 20–30 undergraduate students from 80+ countries to explore electrical and computer engineering (ECE) challenges under the Pratt School of Engineering. Since 2015, the program has empowered 300+ fellows to tackle societal issues like AI ethics, quantum computing, and sustainable energy, with a $5 million investment in research excellence. Fellows collaborate in state-of-the-art labs, driving cross-global research synergy.

The global innovation nexus immerses fellows in cutting-edge ECE domains, offering 12 research projects spanning metamaterials, machine learning, biomedical devices, and cybersecurity. Fellows work under principal investigators from Duke’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, using tools like TensorFlow, MATLAB, and FPGA platforms, with 92% reporting advanced technical skills (Duke ECE Report, 2024). The program features weekly research seminars, coding workshops, mentorship sessions with faculty from Duke Quantum Center, and industry panels with partners like IBM and NVIDIA, with fellows producing 15+ research posters annually. An information session provides insights into academic opportunities and student life.

Fellows engage in Global Tech Dialogues, virtual innovation forums, and on-campus networking events, connecting with peers across North America, Europe, Asia, and beyond. USA research odyssey includes Pratt School of Engineering tours, Durham tech meetups, Research Triangle Park visits, and symposium rehearsals, with 88% reporting enhanced networks. Partnerships with National Science Foundation (NSF), IEEE, and Google Research provide access to global tech ecosystems. Fellows present findings at an exclusive research symposium, advancing cross-global research synergy goals. Duke’s Diversity in STEM Initiative hosts 50+ events annually, promoting inclusivity.

Hosted at Duke University, a top-ranked research institution with Gothic architecture and vibrant campus life, the program offers hybrid research flexibility and access to 200,000+ digital resources, including IEEE Xplore, arXiv, and Duke’s ECE datasets, to fuel research excellence. Since 2018, 200+ alumni have influenced global tech advancements, with 75% presenting at conferences like ICML or ISSCC. Plans to expand ties with MIT, Stanford, and Asian tech hubs aim to grow 3,000+ collaborations. The English-medium program, with optional cultural workshops, ensures accessibility. The Duke ECE Framework aligns projects with UN SDGs.

Join tech visionaries to ignite fully funded research immersion program, forge global networks, and shape technology’s future with Duke Summer Research Program 2026!
