The CAS ANSO Scholarship, a premier study in China initiative, invites international students to pursue master’s or PhD degrees at leading institutions under the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations (ANSO), led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Supporting up to 200 master’s and 300 PhD students annually, this CAS graduate program is hosted at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and over 40 CAS institutes across China. As a global research vanguard, ANSO fosters scientific innovation, positioning scholars for a multicultural academic odyssey at world-class research hubs.
The scholarship supports diverse CAS graduate programs in fields like Natural Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, Medicine, Technology, and Management. At USTC, ranked #43 globally by QS World University Rankings 2025, Engineering students innovate in quantum technology, while Computer Science scholars advance AI algorithms. UCAS, ranked #17 globally by ESI, excels in Medicine, focusing on bioinformatics, and Natural Sciences, exploring particle physics. CAS institutes specialize in Technology, such as robotics, and Management, addressing science policy. Delivered in English or Chinese, the curriculum, guided by world-class faculty, achieves a 90% employability rate within six months in roles like research scientists, engineers, or tech consultants.
The CAS ANSO Scholarship includes a sub-category, the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO PhD Scholarship, offering up to 40 PhD slots annually to advance sustainable development through research in fields like climate science and biotechnology. Scholars engage in events like the ANSO Global Science Forum or Asia-Pacific Research Symposium, fostering global academic networking. Partnerships with institutions like Caltech and Tsinghua enable exchange programs, enriching the global academic network. Students present at conferences such as the International Sustainability Summit, collaborating with industry leaders like Lenovo, enhancing career prospects. CAS’s innovation ecosystems foster entrepreneurship, with 12% of graduates launching startups in tech or green energy.
