The Australia Awards Scholarships are fully funded scholarships by the Australian Government. It is administrated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Eligibility Criteria Australia Awards Scholarships:

1. International students can apply; Scholarship holders must leave Australia after their degree completion for two years.

2. Applicants must sign an agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia that would make sure that students will comply with Australian Awards scholarship conditions.

3. Applicants must pay a USD 39 registration fee.

Research Training Program

On the behalf of the Department of Employment, Skills, and Education, the individual university is administrating Research Training Program (RTP) scheme. The Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarships are fully funded scholarships in Australia. The Research Training Program (RTP) is available for master’s and doctoral degree programs in Australian universities. An applicant must submit an application for RTP scholarships to the individual university. The selection and application criteria vary among different universities.

Eligibility Criteria of Australian Government RTP Scholarships:

1. All domestic and overseas students who are enrolled at an Australian HEP in an accredited HDR course can apply.

2. Students intending for research master’s for two years can apply for RTP scholarships.

3. Students intending for a research doctorate degree for three or four years can apply for RTP scholarships.

4. Applicants must pay a USD 39 registration fee.

The university will provide one or more of the following financial supports to the RTP scholarship recipient.

Scholarship Deadline (Australia Awards Scholarships):

• Registration deadline for 2025 has passed.

• Registration for 2026 is now open with a tentative deadline in May 2026!

Scholarship Deadline (Australian Government RTP Scholarships):

While applications are open for the University of Sydney Scholarship all year round, it is recommended that you submit your HDR admission by October to receive an outcome by February.
