The Armament and Disarmament Summer School in Sweden is a fully funded opportunity for students, researchers, and young professionals to deepen their understanding of arms control, non-proliferation, and global security. Hosted by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and the Alva Myrdal Centre for Nuclear Disarmament (AMC) at Uppsala University, this prestigious summer school aims to equip participants with critical knowledge, skills, and networks to contribute to disarmament efforts worldwide.

Taking place from 25–29 August, this five-day program features expert-led lectures, interactive discussions, skill-building workshops, and site visits to institutions working on arms control and disarmament. The fully funded summer program is designed to motivate and empower the next generation of peace researchers, policymakers, and practitioners. Participants will engage with leading experts in international security, strengthening their professional development and contributing to global peace efforts.

This fully funded summer school in Europe covers travel (airfare or train), visa costs, travel insurance, local transportation, accommodation, and meals. It is open to 25 highly motivated applicants from governmental and non-governmental organizations, think tanks, and universities. Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree and be either enrolled in or recently graduated from a university. The selection process prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion, encouraging women, underrepresented groups, and applicants from developing countries to apply.

•Those who attended the program before cannot apply again.
