The MBZUAI UGRIP 2026, a paid AI research internship UAE, invites AI research pioneers for a technological innovation quest. Hosted by the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in Abu Dhabi, this 4-week program engages 50+ international students from 26+ countries in a global AI hub. Launched in 2021, MBZUAI UGRIP, based in Masdar City’s sustainability-driven campus, advances artificial intelligence through projects in computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), robotics, and healthcare AI, guided by mentors like Prof. Fahad Khan and Prof. Preslav Nakov.
The undergraduate AI internship Abu Dhabi offers hands-on research experience in world-class laboratories, focusing on real-world AI challenges. Interns explore NLP innovations like speech recognition, machine translation, and conversational AI systems, enhancing models like ChatGPT. In computer vision, projects include anomaly detection (e.g., traffic accident monitoring), severe weather tracking, tumor detection, and crowd analysis, using deep learning algorithms. Machine learning research spans algorithm optimization, data analytics, and statistical modeling, with applications in smart cities, business intelligence, and genomics. Interns collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, presenting findings at a research symposium to foster global AI advancements.
Participants engage in Abu Dhabi AI Innovation Forums, Dubai Tech Summits, and Masdar City research colloquia, connecting with peers from North America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. Cultural immersions include Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque tours, Louvre Abu Dhabi visits, Dubai Burj Khalifa trips, Emirati heritage workshops, and Yas Island outings, with 95% reporting enriched cultural perspectives. Industry engagements with ADIA Lab, G42, and Core42 provide insights into UAE’s AI ecosystem. MBZUAI, ranked 18th globally in AI research, offers access to advanced computational resources like GPU clusters and cloud-based AI platforms.
