Applications for 6th edition of Astrophysics Summer Program in Netherlands are now open. This international research program is open to students from all over the world who are passionate to work on advanced astronomical research at the Anton Pannekoek Institute (API). The purpose of this fully funded summer program is to provide the opportunity of getting experience of astronomical research at a globally renowned institute and help students to begin their career in science and other fields.

During Apsire summer research program, students will work on individual research projects with postdocs and PhDs, while attached within a faculty-led research group under the supervision of an advisor. ASPIRE (Astrophysics Summer Program for International Research Experience) will include research topics like exoplanets and their atmospheres, extreme astrophysics of massive star explosions, transients and black holes. The research projects will cover different aspects of theory, modeling and observational research.

ASPIRE summer program for international students will include lectures by API researchers who will teach the basics of programming and research skills to the students. This summer program for master’s students will include social events to interact with API researchers, MSc and PhD students, postdocs and the faculty members. At the end of this research program in Europe, students will have to present their research achievements in ASPIRE symposium.

Eligibility Criteria for Astrophysics Summer Program in Netherlands:

•Applicants should be currently enrolled in or have recently completed an MSc program.
•Applicants should not be enrolled in a PhD program with a background in Physics, Astronomy or other closely related fields.
•Applicants must check the available projects on the website.
•Students who have limited research experience opportunities are encouraged to apply.
•Students from groups whose talents are underrepresented by astronomical institutes which include people of color, women, and underprivileged socio-economic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
•Applicants should be physically available for all 6 weeks of the program.
•Students should be passionate about research in astronomy.
•Applicants should have a high level of English proficiency.
