Rest and Resilience Fellowship in Germany is a collaborative program between Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and the Taz Panter Foundation. Each year, this fellowship invites two journalists from nations with limited freedom of the press and information. The Short-Term fellowship program in Berlin is flexible and can be customized to suit each fellow’s unique needs and interests, without the requirement to follow a structured daily schedule.

This fully funded international fellowship is a flexible program which can be customized to each fellow’s requirements and interests. Fellows in Berlin will participate in group activities and media house visits. They will learn about Reporters Without Borders’ work, which is a global human rights organization and about Taz Panter Foundation which encourages independent and critical journalist’s work.

After completing this international fellowship for 6 months, participants will return to their home countries with new energy and insights to carry on with their journalism.  Participants will attend various workshops for networking and additional training. This fully funded fellowship in Europe (Berlin) will provide opportunity to learn about German editorial offices, interact with international journalists from around the globe, take language classes, and get benefit from individual psychosocial counseling.

Eligibility Criteria for Rest and Resilience Fellowship in Germany:

Applicants applying:

•Should be prepared that how this 6-month fellowship can change their current working situation
positively.
•Should be prepared that this fellowship will be used more for their personal development.
•Must have relevant work experience as a professional journalist for multiple years.
should possess personal threat profile due to work related to journalism or are working in difficult conditions that include risk factors.
•Must have English language proficiency.
•Must have a passport that is valid for at minimum 1 year while applying.
•Should be physically fit to travel longer and stay in a foreign country for 6 months.
•Must be self-sufficient to manage everyday activities in a foreign country.
•Should be willing to return to their home country after completing the fellowship program.
