The SI Global Scholarship, a transformative master’s study in Sweden initiative, invites international professionals to pursue master’s degrees at leading Swedish universities, including Uppsala University (#87, QS World University Rankings 2025), Lund University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and University of Gothenburg. Funded by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and managed by the Swedish Institute (SI), these international scholarships Europe foster global sustainability leaders in fields like environmental science, renewable energy, global health, business innovation, urban sustainability, and social policy. Scholars embark on a transformative Swedish education, engaging in cutting-edge research aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The SI Global Scholarship supports over 700 English-taught master’s programs, empowering scholars to tackle climate resilience, gender equality, and digital innovation at facilities like KTH’s Sustainable Technology Hub or Lund’s Social Innovation Lab. Scholars collaborate with expert faculty, with 85% of alumni leading sustainable development projects in policy, industry, or NGOs post-graduation. The program, supporting 500+ scholars annually from 140+ countries, fosters cross-cultural synergy and innovative solutions. Sweden’s education system, renowned for collaborative learning and inclusivity, equips scholars for impactful global careers.
The scholarship champions global professional networks. Scholars join the SI Global Talent Network, connecting with peers, mentors, and industry pioneers through conferences, workshops, and events like Stockholm Green Innovation Week, Gothenburg Equality Summit, or Malmö Sustainable Business Forum. This inclusive framework supports diverse perspectives, with 60% of scholars from non-Western regions. Campus activities, such as renewable energy hackathons, Lund Cultural Night, or Stockholm Feminist Film Festival, enrich the research-driven experience, with 70% forming international professional ties. SI’s partnerships with European, African, and Asian institutions enhance cross-border research opportunities.
Studying in Sweden, scholars explore landmarks like Stockholm’s Gamla Stan, Kiruna’s Ice hotel, or Gotland’s Visby Walls, immersing in Scandinavian cultural vibrancy. Events like Midsummer Celebrations, Gothenburg Culture Festival, or Uppsala Reggae Festival deepen engagement. Swedish campuses, equipped with state-of-the-art labs, digital libraries, and innovation hubs, support global academic excellence, with connectivity to Copenhagen, Oslo, and Berlin.
