The Oxford Orjiako Scholarship, a transformative study in UK initiative, invites African students to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School, ranked among the world’s top business schools. Established through a £1.5 million donation from Dr. Bryant Orjiako in 2022, this MBA scholarships for Africans program supports one scholar annually, fostering African business trailblazers who drive economic transformation across the continent. As a fully endowed scholarship, it aligns with Oxford’s mission to empower a transformative MBA journey, offering an English-taught MBA focused on global business, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
The Oxford Orjiako Scholarship engages students at Saïd Business School, founded in 1996, which hosts 320+ MBA students from 60+ countries annually. Scholars access cutting-edge research at the Oxford Future of Business Initiative, collaborating with faculty on projects addressing African market innovations, sustainable finance, and digital transformation. Since its inception, the scholarship has nurtured future leaders, with 30% of Saïd MBA alumni from Africa launching startups or leading corporate ventures in sectors like fintech, agribusiness, and renewable energy. The Saïd Business School Foundation (SBSF), established in 1998, supports this vision, promoting excellence in research, teaching, and business relevance.
The scholarship champions cross-cultural synergy and diverse perspectives. Scholars connect with peers, faculty, and global business leaders through networking events, case study discussions, and industry panels, enriching classroom dynamics with insights from African economies. The program’s inclusive framework encourages collaborative learning, with 40% of scholars forming global professional networks via Oxford’s 80,000+ alumni network. Campus events, like the Oxford Africa Business Forum, Saïd Business Summit, or London Tech Week, enhance the dynamic academic experience. Saïd’s partnerships with 150+ institutions in USA, China, India, and South Africa foster research collaborations and exchange programs.
Studying in Oxford, scholars embark on a transformative MBA journey, exploring landmarks like Christ Church, Bodleian Library, or Pitt Rivers Museum, immersing in the UK’s cultural vibrancy. Events such as Oxford’s May Morning, Notting Hill Carnival, or Edinburgh Festival Fringe deepen engagement. Saïd’s Park End Street campus, with modern lecture theaters, innovation hubs, and student lounges, supports a global academic immersion, enhanced by connectivity to London, Paris, and Amsterdam. Oxford’s safe, historic environment (QS Best Student Cities 2025) complements academic pursuits.
